The OPPO Pad Neo was spotted on the Thai regulator NBTC’s database last month, revealing that the brand is preparing a new tablet for its slate. While the company has yet to announce anything about the upcoming device, it has already made an appearance on Malaysia’s own SIRIM database.
Listed with the model number OPD2302, the Pad Neo was listed on SIRIM just last week. This could mean that the tablet will be making its way here after it’s launched by the brand. However, the flagship Pad 2 also received SIRIM certification shortly after its unveiling in March but has not yet made its local debut, so it’s not impossible for the Neo to suffer the same fate.
For now, the only thing known about the Pad Neo is that it will come with 4G LTE support, which is a feature that even the Pad 2 lacks. With that in mind, it’s plausible that this device could be positioned above the Pad Air, but unclear whether it will sit above or below the Pad 2.
For reference, the Pad Air has a 10.36-inch 60Hz display and runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset. On the other hand, the Pad 2 features an 11.61-inch 144Hz display and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC.
