After several rumours and leaks, Samsung has silently launched the new Galaxy Tab A9 lineup in India, Guatemala, and the UAE, its latest offering of mid-range tablets. It comes in two sizes, namely the standard A9 as well as the A9 Plus, and variants that support cellular connectivity.
The Galaxy Tab A9 sports an 8.7-inch LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1340×800. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It has a 2MP front-facing camera as well as an 8MP sensor on the back. Powering it is a 5,100mAh battery with 15W charging.
As for the bigger Tab A9 Plus, it features an 11-inch 1920×1200 LCD display. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This tablet gets a larger 7,040mAh capacity but retains the 15W charging speed. The front side houses a 5MP shooter while the rear is equipped with an 8MP camera. Aside from optional SIM card support, both devices also get Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3.
The Galaxy Tab A9 starts from INR12,999 (~RM737) while the base model for the A9 Plus gets a starting price tag of INR20,999 (~RM1,191). It’s not yet known when the lineup will be available here but it’s certainly coming soon as the series has already made an appearance on the Samsung Malaysia website. More than that, the tablets have already received SIRIM certification and will include a 5G variant.
