The Tesla Model 3 was announced for the local market alongside the Model Y back in July. Despite this, it was not immediately available to those who were interested in the electric vehicle. Recently, during the official launching of its Tesla Centre in Cyberjaya, the company revealed that the Model 3 will be arriving by the end of the month.
In case you missed it, the Tesla Model 3 will be arriving in its new “Project Highland” facelift. Which means that it will come with a more aggressive look to it compared to its previous iterations. It will also come with improved performance, with the company stating during its launch that over half of the car would have been replaced with the facelifted model. The improved performance in question includes more range and a quieter ride.
As mentioned previously, the Tesla Model 3 will be arriving in two configurations. One is designated the Rear-Wheel Drive model, which has a 0 to 100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds, and a top speed of 201 km/h. Its range is rated at up to 513km based on the WLTP cycle. Another option is the Long Range variant which is also the dual motor all-wheel drive option. While it has the same top speed, it has a faster century sprint time of 4.4 seconds, and a longer maximum range of 629km.
As for their prices, the Real-Wheel Drive version of the Tesla Model 3 has an asking price of RM189,000, while the Long Range model comes with a RM218,000 price tag. Additional options include bumping the Autopilot up to Enhanced Autopilot for an additional RM16,000, or Full-Self-Driving for RM32,000.
Finally, the Tesla Model 3 also comes with five colour options. The default is Pearl While Multi-Coat that does not cost extra, while Solid Black and Deep Blue Metallic will cost an additional RM5,000 on top. The final two options, Stealth Grey and Ultra Red, will cost an extra RM7,500 and RM11,000 respectively.
