While the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 lineup has yet to be officially announced, the rumoured tablet has already popped up in several databases, leading to leaks of some key specs. Excitingly, the tablets have now appeared on the SIRIM database, meaning that they are likely to be coming here soon after their launch.
The Galaxy Tab A9 Plus was listed on SIRIM on 26 September with the model number SM-X210 while just today, a 5G variant was put up with the model number SM-X216B along with the vanilla Tab A9 (SM-X115). This indicates that it will be available in three variants but only one will get 5G connectivity.
For the base model, it is expected to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W charging and run on a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC with 4GB of RAM. Moreover, it will have one main camera on the back, a 3.5mm headphone jack, LTE, GPS, Bluetooth, and a front sensor that could be placed on the vertical bezel, unlike its higher-end sibling.
Some of the reported specs of the A9 Plus show that it will sport a 1920×1200 display that is predicted to be either 11- or 12-inch in size. Inside, it will apparently run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset with 4GB of RAM and ship with One UI 5 based on Android 13. According to leaked renders, it could feature a single camera on the back and another up front placed in the horizontal bezel.
It is still unknown when the brand plans to unveil the lineup, but some have speculated that they might be launched during Samsung’s upcoming event in India. The company announced on Amazon India that it will be debuting a new Galaxy Tab, which will likely be the Tab A9 series. If true, then we won’t have to wait long until the tablets make their way to our shores.
