When Tesla first set up shop in the country, it announced that it was putting one of its first Supercharger hubs in Pavilion KL. The company is expanding its footprint in the country further, with the announcement of the first Tesla Centre in Cyberjaya. This would serve a multitude of purposes, from office spaces for its employees to a showroom and service centre.
The showroom space at the Tesla Centre has enough room for up to four vehicles, according to a company representative. Immediately to the back is a small park-like area, with some plants planted to spell out the company name. Behind that is the space that is supposed to be the service center area, but at the time of the launch of the Tesla Centre it is not yet ready. The company says that it will only be ready when the Model 3 arrives, which is at the end of the month.
At the back is a pretty large car park space, and between it and the main building are a healthy number of the brand’s charging stations. But despite these being available in pretty large quantities, the company says that the Tesla Centre won’t be a publicly accessible Supercharger hub. This may change in the future, but for now, it’s completely for use by the company.
Upstairs, the Tesla Centre has its auditorium, as we as its general office area for staffers. A company rep says that its existing office space in Pavilion KL, which opened alongside the launch of its Supercharger hub, will be moved to this centre in Cyberjaya over the course of the month.
For now, there may not be much reason to pay a visit to the Tesla Centre unless you’re looking to get a Tesla electric vehicle of your own, or wanting to get a test drive. But as mentioned earlier, when the service centre portion of the facility is ready, then this would be the place to go if you need maintenance or repairs done.
