Last week, Samsung Malaysia put up the Galaxy A05 and Galaxy A05s on its website without revealing the prices and launch dates. Now, it seems that it has quietly released the A05s through several authorised resellers despite the company itself having yet to announce the phone’s availability on its website or social media.
The Galaxy A05s sports a 6.7-inch 1080p PLS LCD display with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for unlocking. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage alongside a microSD card slot for up to 1TB of expansion. For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, 4G LTE, and is equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack — it unfortunately lacks support for NFC and does not carry certification for water resistance.
On the camera side, it is fitted with a 50MP primary camera on the back alongside a 2MP macro lens and a depth sensor, while the front features a 13MP selfie shooter. Powering the entry-level smartphone is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.
The Galaxy A05s is priced at RM799 and is sold through authorised resellers on Lazada and Shopee. It is available in black, silver, as well as light green colour options.
