Acer Malaysia has announced two gaming monitors today, in conjunction with the Asia Pacific Predator League 2024 local finals. These are the Predator CG48 and the Predator X27U, both of which are OLED gaming monitors.
Starting with the Acer Predator CG48, this is the larger of the two, measuring in 48 inches, as the name suggests. Which makes it more a TV than a monitor, if not for the its additional features. Befitting the size, this is a 4K monitor, with a non-standard refresh rate of 138Hz. G-to-G response time is rated at 0.1ms, while pixel response time goes all the way up to 0.01ms. There’s also support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for reduced latency and variable refresh rate, as well as HDR10.
Connectivity options to your rig include one HDMI 2.1 and three HDMI 2.0 ports, as well as a DisplayPort 1.4. Beyond these, there are four USB 3.2 ports as well as a USB-C port if there are more tools you need to plug in.
Going to the more conventionally sized Acer Predator X27U, this is a 27-inch WQHD OLED monitor. But what this one gets in return for a smaller size is a higher refresh rate, rated at 240Hz. In the same vein, while it shares the same 0.01 pixel response rate, G-to-G times are much higher, rated at 0.03ms. It also gets AMD FreeSync Premium, with HDR10 as well.
For ports, you get two HDMI 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4. Additionally, you also get 1 USB-C port and two USB 3.2 ports. Being a more conventional monitor also means that it comes with a stand that allows for the position of the screen to be adjusted.
The Acer Predator CG48 is pried at RM5,999, while the X27U instead comes with a RM3,999 price tag. You can find out more about each of them by hitting the links below
