Last month saw the launch of the Redmi Pad SE in the European market. The tablet also made an appearance within the SIRIM database. It took awhile, but we finally have word that the tablet is on its way to the Malaysian market. Though it is scheduled to arrive only at the end of October’s first week.
Unlike the European market, it looks like the Redmi Pad SE is only arriving on our shores in one memory and storage configuration, which is 8GB + 256GB. Beyond that, everything else about the tablet has remained unchanged. This means we’re looking at the same 11-inch 16:10 aspect ratio Full HD+ display, which has a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a brightness of up to 400 nits.
On the inside, it runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, with an 8,000mAh battery to keep it running. Xiaomi claims that this will allow the Redmi Pad SE to deliver up to 14 hours of video playback. Worth mentioning also is that the tablet has a 3.5mm audio jack, as well as a microSD card slot, supporting up to 1TB of extra storage space.
The Redmi Pad SE is priced locally at RM799, but as mentioned earlier, it won’t be immediately available. Instead, if you are interested in picking one up, you’ll have to wait until 7 October. Then, you’ll be able to get one via Authorissed Xiaomi stores, official retailers, as well as the brand’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee. Understandably, the tablet is not yet listed on either e-commerce platform
