The Tecno Phantom V Flip has finally been launched after months of teasing and speculation. It is the company’s first clamshell foldable smartphone and is a companion to its first foldable, the Phantom V Fold. Just like what we’ve seen in leaks, the phone comes in black and purple colour options with a faux leather finish.
Being a foldable, the phone has two displays; a main inner display that sits at 6.9 inches when unfolded with a 1080p 120HZ LTPO AMOLED panel with a 1,000 nit peak brightness as well as a small circular 1.32-inch AMOLED screen on the outside. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
It has a hinge that can be set at any angle between 30 to 150 degrees with a claim that the screen will remain “virtually creaseless” even after 200,000 flips. The Phantom V Flip also features a 64MP primary camera next to a 13MP ultra-wide lens, while the front houses a 32MP selfie shooter. Powering it is a relatively small 4,000mAh battery with support for 45W charging.
The Phantom V Flip will go on sale in India in October with a price tag of INR49,999 (~RM2,830). It will be available in other regions eventually but as of now, it’s uncertain if or when the foldable is coming to Malaysia.
