DJI via its social media channels has announced that it will be holding a launch event next week for an all-new drone product. “Mini to the Max”, the company wrote in the accompanying teaser video, which hints on the upcoming device’s identity.
Without a doubt, the new drone in question is very likely to be the Mini 4 Pro that was already leaked earlier this month by tipsters OsitaLV and Quadro_News. Further supporting this is the very brief glimpse at its design in the same clip, which highlights the dual sensors that are located in front. This particular element is unique to the unannounced product, as it depicted in the prior leak to be the first drone from DJI to feature a new quad-sensor Omnidirectional Active Obstacle Sensing system.
To recap, the images provided by Quadro_News also revealed that the upcoming DJI Mini 4 Pro is equipped with a 24mm f/1.7 lens mounted on a 3-axis gimbal. According to the leaked packaging from the same source, the drone’s imaging system is powered by a 48MP sensor that’s capable of recording videos at up to 4K resolution at 100fps and has HDR support. Other features include True Vertical Shooting, FocusTrack, Waypoint Flight, and Hyperlapse.
Apart from that, it is claimed that the drone revealed weighs less than 249g, offers FHD video transmission range of up to 20km, and is capable of staying in the air for 34 minutes. Last but not least, the front of the packaging also indicates that a DJI RC-N1 remote controller is included together with the drone.
Pricing and availability is still kept under wraps at this time, and will only be revealed by DJI during the launch. Speaking of which, the event will be streamed live via the company’s official website and YouTube channel next Monday on 28 September 2023 at 9pm local time.
