Xiaomi has recently confirmed the chipset that will be featured on the Pro variant of its upcoming Redmi Note 13 series, which is slated to launch in China later this week. Unlike its Dimensity 7200-Ultra equipped Pro+ sibling, this model is revealed to come with Qualcomm’s newly unveiled mid-range SoC, the Snapdragon 7s Gen2. It is also worth noting that the Redmi Note 13 Pro will be the first smartphone in the world to feature the hardware.
To bring you up to speed, the all-new Snapdragon 7s Gen2 is a 5G-capable chipset built on the 4nm process technology, featuring four 2.4GHz cores for performance and four 1.95GHz cores for efficiency. Paired together with it is an unspecified Adreno GPU, which is listed to support up to FHD+ (2220×1080 px) resolution and up to 144Hz refresh rate.
Other features include FastConnect 6700 connectivity platform that supports up to 2.9Gbps download speed and Bluetooth 5.2, and also features the Spectra ISP that supports a camera with up to a 200MP sensor as well as 4K video capture at 30fps. There’s also built-in support for LPDDR5 3200MHz RAM, USB-C 3.1 and Quick Charge 4+.
In case you missed our prior reports, Xiaomi before this has revealed that the Redmi Note 13 series will consist of three models: a standard variant, a Pro, and a Pro+. Among those, only the designs of the latter two have been unveiled in numerous teasers leading towards the line-up’s forthcoming launch in China on 21 September 2023. Additionally, both models are also confirmed to feature IP68 water and dust resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protected displays, as well as primary cameras powered by Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL sensor.
Unfortunately, not much is known about the design, specifications or features of the standard Redmi Note 13 variant at this time. Hopefully we’ll learn more about all three models from the new series later this week.
