The much rumoured Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is definitely coming, though it’s still not known when that may be. Further supporting this speculation is the fact that support pages for the smartphone (under its purported SM-S711B/DS model name) have already appeared on the brand’s website in different regions, including the UAE, Africa, Philippines and even Malaysia.
We’ve discovered that there are three separate support pages for the Galaxy S23 FE in the Malaysian website. All of which have different denominations after the model name: SM-S711BLGCXME, SM–S711BZACXME and SM-S711BZWCXE. Using the standard Galaxy S23 as reference, we believe that these indicate that the phone will be released in three colourways upon launch.
Meanwhile, Gizmochina reports that e-commerce platform Flipkart had recently put up a banner allegedly promoting the imminent arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE in India. It is quite likely that the platform may have jumped the gun to announce the device, as the image was taken down not long after. Fortunately, the publication managed to grab a screenshot of it just before that.
“The best got better”, the banner reads. Apart from showcasing the front silhouette of a smartphone, Samsung’s branding can also be seen in the promotional image. It also hinted that the device is “coming soon” and while it is unclear when that may be, the “big festive surprise of 2023” copy indicates that the release will occur sometime this year.
Recapping previous reports, several unofficial sources believe that the FE model will sport a similar design to the vanilla Galaxy S23. Specifications-wise, it is suggested that the phone features a 6.4-inch 120Hz OLED panel, a 4,500mAh battery, as well as a triple camera setup that consists of a 50P primary, 12MP ultra-wide and an 8MP telephoto.
Several leaks also claim that Samsung may exclusively release a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 version of the Galaxy S23 FE in the US, while the rest of the world gets an Exynos 2200 version instead. If true, this would mean that Malaysia may be getting the latter variant, which might not sit well with a lot of local consumers.
Regardless, we shall wait and see whether this will actually be the case once Samsung is ready to announce the Galaxy S23 FE for release. As to when that may be, no one but the company itself knows at this time.
