Samsung seems to be gearing up to release two new devices in its Galaxy A series, the A05 and A05s. While the two phones have been rumoured for a while now, it seems that a global launch is more concrete given that they have passed several regional certifications, with Malaysia’s SIRIM as the latest.
Listed with the model numbers SM-A055F/DS and SM-A057F/DS respectively, the Galaxy A05 and A05s received certification from SIRIM just last week, paving the way for an imminent local launch. That being said, it is still unknown when the phones will be receiving a global release, let alone when they will be available in Malaysia.
Not much is known about the upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones, although we have seen some details leak out in some listings. For instance, a listing on Google Play Console confirmed that the A05 will be running on a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset with 4GB of RAM.
It will also sport a 1600×720 display and ship with One UI based on Android 13. For the A05s, an FCC listing showed that it will have a 4G chipset with support for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3, along with a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. For now, the brand has yet to reveal any official details regarding the budget devices.
