Temu, the online marketplace run by Chinese e-commerce giant Pinduoduo, has officially made its way into Malaysia. The company reportedly added Malaysia to its list of available countries on 8 September, two weeks after it quietly entered the Philippines in late August.
This makes our country Temu’s second market in Southeast Asia, making it available in a total of 40 countries as of writing. It offers products that are mostly shipped from China, which allows it to offer many items at cheap prices.
Some of the site’s selling points include free returns within 90 days as well as price adjustments. For the free returns, it is applicable for almost all items with the exception of used or incomplete clothing items, items that are labelled as non-returnable, and free gifts. That being said, only the first return on every order is free, with the second and subsequent returns from the same order being charged an RM8.50 shipping fee.
Regarding price adjustments, Temu will refund you the price difference if an item that you bought has its price on the platform reduced within 30 days of your purchase. Orders excluded from this policy are items that were on clearance, promotions, or no longer available.
With the launch, the platform is offering free shipping on all orders until 11.59 PM on 11 September. However, Temu has a RM45 minimum per order. There is also a policy of a RM20 credit for any late deliveries.
