Earlier in the week, Windows Report cited sources with access to leaked press material on the Lenovo Legion Go ahead of its reveal. Now, with IFA under way the company has officially lifted the veil off of its handheld PC. It looks like most of what was leaked have turned out to be accurate, but with the official announcement comes additional details not included in the prior report.
But to start from the top, the company has confirmed that the Lenovo Legion GO is indeed equipped with an 8.8-inch QHD+ 16:10 display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The chip is also noted to go up to an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, with 16GB of RAM and a choice of 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of PCIe 4 M.2 NVMe storage. Its battery is also confirmed to be a two-cell 49.2WHr unit with a 65W power adapter.
The official announcement of the Lenovo Legion Go also explains the wheel on the right detachable controller that was seen in an earlier leak. As it turns out, this acts as the mouse wheel, to complement the touchpad on the right half of the controller pair. Though trying to use both at the same time looks like an ergonomic nightmare. But on the flip side the company says that the thumbsticks on these controllers are Hall Effect sticks, making them a lot less less prone to stick drift. There’s also a joystick stand, again for the right piece.
Considering the IFA being in Berlin, Germany, the price of the Lenovo Legion Go is set at EUR799 (~RM4021). Though while the recent leak noted that it will be available in October, the official announcement says this will happen in November instead. This also comes with the additional caveat that local specs, availability and pricing will be announced at a later date.
What will be available in October, instead, are the two accessories for the Lenovo Legion Go, which are the Legion Glasses and the Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones. For these two, the prior press materials look to be entirely accurate, minus the US$ and EUR pricing.
The former uses Full HD Micro OLED displays for each eye, as well as built in speakers. Though the official release confirms that to use it, the connected device “requires full-functionality USB-C with DP Alt mode”. The latter also gets its 10mm drivers and virtual 7.1 sound confirmed, as well as the inline mic and the USB-C connector.
As mentioned, their prices are now listed as EUR499 (~RM2,511) and EUR49.99 (~RM252). They also keep their October release date, but specifics for the local market are still pending.
