A few weeks ago, we saw reports that claimed the Jabra Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 were in the works. Now, the company has officially announced both TWS buds, with the latter now sporting new tech as well.
Initially, it looked like the Jabra Elite 8 Active would be the more interesting pair of TWS buds between the two. At the time, it looked like it shared mostly the same feature set as the Elite 10, but with the added ruggedness. Following the additional details that were revealed as part of the official reveal, it looks like the Elite 10 has something to keep its edge as the latest and greatest in the series.
And that comes in the form of Dolby Atmos support, and by extension, Dolby Head Tracking. Other things that help distinguish it as the premium option of the two include six built-in microphones and voice clarity algorithms for clearer calls. These also likely help in enhancing the HearThrough transparency mode and wind noise reduction.
There’s also Bluetooth Multipoint connection for easy pairing. Battery life is rated at six hours with ANC on, and the case gives it another 21. It also has an IP57 rating, so while it’s not as tough as the Active model, it’s far from vulnerable to the elements.
Speaking of which, the Jabra Elite 8 Active itself actually comes with an IP68 rating for the buds, and IP54 for the case. Beyond just IP ratings, the company says that these also come with the additional MIL-STD-810H rating. Battery life is also a little better, rated at eight hours, with the case providing an extra 24 hours.
The Jabra Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 are priced at US$199 (~RM924) and US$249 (~RM1,156), respectively. Their release months are a very wide, August and September respectively as well, but for now they are not listed on the company’s local site just yet. And with that, no details on local pricing or availability for the moment.
