The Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 are now available for pre-order in Malaysia, the brand’s latest earbuds that succeed last year’s FreeBuds SE. They come in two colour options, blue and white, and comes with significant upgrades and design changes.
For starters, the earbuds come with hard ear tips instead of the silicone ones used by their predecessor but retains the long stems with touch-sensitive controls. The buds retain the 10mm dynamic drivers but the dust and water resistance rating has been upgraded from IPX4 to IP54.
Equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, the FreeBuds SE 2 support SBC and AAC codecs, and while they lack active noise cancellation, they still offer call noise cancellation. The battery life is where we see the biggest improvement, with the brand claiming that the earbuds last up to nine hours on a single charge and with the charging case, a whopping total of 40 hours in contrast to the 24 hours of battery life offered by the original SE.
The FreeBuds SE 2 will retail for RM199 but gets a launch price of just RM169. From 1 September to 8 September, the earbuds are available for pre-order on the company’s official Lazada and Shopee stores, with vouchers that let you purchase them for as low as RM149.
