Setel has announced that its fuel payment application will soon provide Maybank Petronas Visa credit card holders with new perks in order to make their refuelling experience more worthwhile. According to the company, users will be able to enjoy these benefits starting from 1 September 2023 onwards upon linking their credit cards and paying for their fuel expenses on the app.
The perks in question include TreatsPoints accumulation for Maybank Petronas Visa Platinum and Gold users, and cashback rewards for Maybank Islamic Petronas Ikhwan Visa Platinum and Gold Credit Card-i card holders. As detailed by Setel, users of the former can soon earn 5x and 8x TreatsPoints when paying for fuel via the app on weekdays and weekends respectively. Meanwhile, users of the latter are entitled to earn 1% cashback on weekdays for payments made with their credit card, and 8% during weekends. The company notes that cashbacks have a cap of RM50 for every month.
“After numerous requests from our users over the years, we have finally partnered with Maybank to offer these exciting TreatsPoints and cashback perks when they pay for fuel using their Maybank PETRONAS Visa credit cards via the Setel app,” said company CEO Mazlin Erawati in a statement. “This partnership will not only help our users to unlock more fuel savings, but also amplify our dedication in delivering value to make their lives on the road simpler and better.”
