The realme GT5 has just been unveiled as the brand’s latest flagship smartphone, directly succeeding the GT3 from earlier this year. It brings a lot of the design and features of its predecessor with it, but it also offers some newly-packed hardware.
Firstly, the phone sports a 6.74-inch 1.5K OLED display with a high refresh rate of 144Hz and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits, alongside a new X7 display chip by PixelWorks. On the back, it retains the transparent window with RGB lights next to the camera module, showcasing the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The rear is slightly curved and wrapped in a special textured glass that the company developed with BYD, dubbed “Miracle Glass”.
The Snapdragon SoC is paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a max configuration of 1TB for storage. As for the camera island on the GT5, it’s the same as the GT3 with a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. Up front, the cutout houses a 16MP selfie shooter.
There are two variants of the GT5, which differ according to the battery setup. The first variant carries a large 5,240mAh battery with support for 150W charging while the other model gets a smaller 4,600mAh capacity with a charging speed capped at a whopping 240W.
For pricing, the GT5 starts from CNY2,999 (~RM1,912) for the 150W model with a base 12GB+256GB configuration while the 240W 24GB+1TB model costs CNY3,799 (~RM2,422). As of now, there is no news on the phone’s pricing or availability for the international market.
