Yes 5G has introduced two new wireless broadband plans that offer 5G broadband at home without any installation required. Last year, the telco launched a wireless fibre 5G plan with a speed cap and a much higher price than its new offerings, with the latter providing greater value overall.
First up is the Flexi plan, which costs RM58 per month with no contract, meaning that you only receive a SIM card. This package provides unlimited 5G and 100GB of 4G data, in case you use it in an area without 5G coverage. While the previous wireless 5G plan capped the speed at 120Mbps, the new ones come with uncapped speeds for both 5G and 4G.
If you want a free router, you’ll have to subscribe to the Gateway plan which costs RM99 per month with a 24-month contract. Similarly, it has uncapped speeds with an unlimited quota for 5G and a bigger 4G quota of 150GB. The 5G Infinite Gateway router provided is worth RM1,199, supports Wi-Fi 6, and can connect up to 32 devices at one time.
Yes 5G has a seven-day return policy for the Gateway plan in the event you change your mind and want to cancel the contract. However, the policy only applies if you have slow or no service at your registered premises and have used less than 10GB.
