Remember the limited edition Touch ‘n Go (TnG) Christmas themed gingerbread man NFC charm from last year? For those who don’t, the product is basically an Enhanced TnG card but in the form of, well, a charm or a keychain. And like the actual card, you can top it up with credit balance and use it to conduct cashless payments at supported merchants, tolls, or even pay for public transport fares.
The reason why we’re bringing it up is because TnG has finally introduced a follow-up product with an all-new Rabbit Charm. Instead of featuring a distinct shape like the Christmas version, the company’s latest release is a pleather-covered circle plate with an artwork of a rabbit in the middle. And like the gingerbread man charm from before, it too has embroidered details as well as an attached keychain which lets you attach it to bags and so on.
Eagle-eyed readers might have noticed that the new rabbit charm looks like it is sporting a Chinese New Year-like theme. Seeing that it is the Year of The Rabbit, there’s a possibility that TnG could have wanted to debut this product in conjunction with the Lunar New Year, but somehow missed the window due to some reason.
Anyway, you’ll be glad to know that the rabbit charm is potentially one of many of its kind that will be coming from TnG. As revealed by the company, the product is part of its new Furry Series edition, implying that many other animal-themed NFC charms will be released in the near future. On that note, TnG’s press release also mentioned that its RFID Tag will also be getting the Furry Series treatment, but only in terms of packaging.
The new NFC-equipped Rabbit Charm is priced at RM30, and is available now via the company’s Service & Sales Centres in NU Sentral and Bangsar South. For those who prefer to do their shopping online instead, take note that the product will be available through Touch ‘n Go’s official Shopee store starting tomorrow on 24 August 2023.
Additionally, the same charm will also be bundled together with the aforementioned Furry Series RFID Tag on 1 September 2023, which will be available for RM60 via the official Shopee store. According to TnG, opting for this saves you RM5 when purchasing the Rabbit Charm as part of the package, though it is more pricier than just getting it on its own.
