The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 was just recently launched, but rumours regarding its successor are already popping up. Though this is one that, if it ends up being true, could soothe one of the pain points of an otherwise great clamshell foldable. Specifically, the cameras of the device, with the main shooter potentially being upgraded.
Dutch outlet Galaxy Club reports that the South Korean tech giant is already testing prototypes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 successor, which will presumably be known as the Flip6. The report notes that one of these early versions sport a 50MP main camera.
Unfortunately, that’s about all the information that the report has on the clamshell foldable device potentially coming next year. There’s the passing mention that the successor for the Fold5, presumably the Fold6, is also already in testing. This is referenced with the codename Q6, while the Flip6 is known as B6 instead.
Though, being in such an early stage, and about a whole year away before the actual device gets unveiled officially. With that in mind, there’s plenty of time for the company to change its mind on this front. And that’s not yet discounting when things don’t go according to plan. Either way, while it sound hopeful for now, it’s probably best to take it with a pinch of salt first, and appreciate the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 for what it is.
