The Xiaomi Smart Band 8, part of the brand’s most updated lineup of wearables, has been listed on the SIRIM database. It was launched in China back in April and it seems that the smartband is finally making its way here.
Listed with the model number M2239B1, the Smart Band 8 received its SIRIM certification just yesterday. The company has not made any official announcements regarding the product with this, it is usually a clear indication that the device is set to be released in the Malaysian market soon.
The new smartband sports the same-sized 1.62-inch 60Hz AMOLED display as its predecessor with a tempered glass cover but its peak brightness got bumped up slightly from 500 to 600 nits. It is water resistant up to 50 meters and has a battery life of up to 16 days with always-on display turned off and up to six days with the feature enabled.
For health and fitness, it has all the standard sensors as well as supporting over 150 sports modes for workout tracking. There is also the Smart Band 8 Pro that was unveiled earlier this week with a bigger screen and built-in GPS, but this model has not been listed in the local database yet, so it remains to be seen whether the brand will be bringing the Pro here.
