Dell has introduced its new 24 Touch USB-C Monitor, which features an articulating stand that lets it transform from a traditional display to a touchscreen tablet that sits on top of a desk. It’s also worth noting that the monitor isn’t the first from the company to feature this form factor, as that honour belongs to the Dell P2418HT from 2017. With a six year gap, you can expect this newer model to pack numerous improvements over its predecessor.
The Dell 24 Touch USB-C Monitor features a 23.8-inch IPS touchscreen with FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 99% sRGB colour gamut, as well as 10-point touch support on Windows and macOS devices. It is also equipped with a built-in 3W mono speaker and ComfortView Plus feature, which helps reduce blue light emissions without affecting colour performance.
In terms of I/O options, featured on the new transformable Dell monitor are two USB-A downstream ports, one USB-C downstream port with 15W power delivery, another USB-C with a faster 90W power delivery to charge external devices, as well as a HDMI and a DisplayPort 1.2. Unlike its predecessor or most monitors for that matter, the 24 Touch also comes with a RJ45 LAN port that enables for wired internet connectivity. But don’t let that mislead you, it is not an all-in-one display like Apple’s iMacs, and still requires a connected device such as a PC or a laptop in order to be utilised.
As for the monitor’s articulating stand, it supports the ability to tilt upwards at 5-degrees, rotate left and right at 4-degrees, swivel at 30-degrees, and has an adjustable height of 110mm through a single pivot point. Meanwhile, situated below the attached display’s “chin” are protective cushions that are meant to absorb any bumps when you position it into tablet mode. Besides that, also found on the back of the display is a 100 x 100mm VESA mount if you wish to attach it to a third-party arm or a wall.
The new Dell 24 Touch USB-C Monitor is available now in Malaysia for RM1,959, which is significantly pricier than its predecessor that’s currently retailing at RM1,219. Those interested may purchase it through the brand’s official website.
