The Redmi Pad SE, the succeeding model to the Xiaomi subsidiary’s inaugural tablet that was released last year, has officially made its debut in Europe. It’s also worth noting that the same device has also been recently spotted in the SIRIM database, meaning that it will eventually see a launch in Malaysia sometime soon.
The new Redmi Pad SE features several significant upgrades over its predecessor. Chief among them being its display, which features a slightly larger 11-inch LCD panel with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the screen offers a typical brightness of 400 nits and a contrast ratio of 1500:1, and is also TUV Rheinland certified for low blue output. Besides that, the tablet itself is equipped with quad Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio supported speakers, and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, which is paired together with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD card port that supports up to 1TB of expanded storage, dual frequency Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 support, as well as Android 13 via Xiaomi’s MIUI Pad 14 platform. Battery-wise, the Redmi Pad SE comes with a capacity of 8,000mAh, which is identical to its predecessor, but with a slower fast charging rate of only 10W via USB-C.
Meanwhile, situated in front of the tablet on its bezel is a 5MP camera for selfies or video calls, whereas found on its back is a lone 8MP camera with 1080p video recording capabilities. In terms of colour choices, the device’s aluminium alloy rear plate is offered in either Lavender Purple, Graphite Gray, or Mint Green.
For the European market, the Redmi Pad SE starts at EUR199 (~RM1,007) for the 4GB configuration, EUR229 (~RM1,160) for the 6GB, and EUR249 (~RM1,260) for the top-end 8GB variant. Xiaomi has yet to confirm when it plans to launch the new tablet in Malaysia.
