Illegear recently announced its new Apex 27 gaming monitor. The desktop monitor is technically a refresh of the brand’s original monitor of the same name, the difference between the two being that the latest model obviously comes with some newer features.
Starting with the obvious features, the Apex 27 features a 27-inch IPS display that has a maximum resolution of WQHD (2560 x 1440). In addition to the higher than average resolution, it also has a maximum variable refresh rate of 165Hz, as well as a 1ms GTG response time.
Other display goodies of the Apex 27 include support for 10-bit colour, plus a 91% DCI-P3, 100% sRGB, and 85% Adobe RGB colour accuracy, a feature that Illegear explicitly says on its site that it is only available for this model. It also supports HDR up to 400 nits, which isn’t the highest but is certainly bright enough to light up your room at night. Further, the monitor also supports Adaptive Sync for anti-screen tearing.
The back of the Apex 27 also features RBG LEDs built in. More importantly, the monitor has the capability to pitch, swivel, rotate, and have its height adjusted, so long as it is done via the provided monitor stand. Of course, if you’re trying to save space, it is also VESA-compatible, meaning that you can also install in on a monitor arm.
The refreshed Illegear Apex 27 is already available and retails for RM1,199. Should you chose to purchase the gaming monitor with cash, the brand is giving a small discount of 5%, bringing the total SRP down to RM1,140.
