The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 has finally made its debut as the brand’s latest high-end foldable smartphone. It is the slimmest foldable made by the company yet, measuring at 5.26mm when unfolded and 10.89mm when folded, making it just a little bit thicker than the HONOR Magic V2. There is also a new hinge design that takes up 17% less space and supports a 45°- 135° hover opening to enable it to be propped up like a laptop.
The large inner display sports an 8.03-inch 2160×1960 LTPO OLED screen while the outer display uses a 6.56-inch 1080p AMOLED panel. Both displays support a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and have a staggering peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Only the external screen is proctected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version that was first seen in the Redmagic 8S Pro, which is the same overclocked chipset fitted in the Galaxy S23 series. As for the configurations, it comes with up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Powering it is a 4,800mAh battery with support for 67W wired and 50W wireless charging, as well as reverse wireless charging.
On the photography side, it has a quad-camera setup with the Leica branding. The Mix Fold 3 features a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP periscope module with 5x optical zoom. Both telephoto cameras are also equipped with OIS.
The Mix Fold 3 starts from CNY8,999 (~RM5,720) for the base configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. So far, the company has not announced availability for international markets and unfortunately, rumours say that it might be exclusive to China just like its predecessor.
