Yesterday, Maxis announced that it finally received shareholders’ approval to sign the Access Agreement with DNB. This means that its network is able to offer 5G data to its customers and with that, the telco has already put up its new 5G plans for both postpaid and prepaid.

Here are the new postpaid plans for Maxis customers:

  • RM79 per month for 80GB 4G/5G + Bonus 40GB 5G
  • RM109 per month for 100GB 4G/5G + Bonus 50GB 5G
  • RM139 per month for 120GB 4G/5G + Bonus 60GB 5G
  • RM169 per month for 150GB 4G/5G + Bonus 75GB 5G
  • RM199 per month for 200GB 4G/5G + Bonus 100GB 5G

All these plans come with unlimited calls and SMS, with the option for unlimited 5G roaming at RM29 per day. As for the data, usage will first be deducted from the bonus 5G datapool when connected to 5G before even touching your base quota. For Postpaid 109 users and above, you can add a supplementary share line at RM48 per month, with each share line adding an extra 30GB into the collective datapool.

For Hotlink users, the brand offers only one 5G postpaid plan alongside several 5G passes for prepaid customers. The postpaid plan costs RM70 per month for 70GB of 4G/5G data plus 35GB of bonus 5G data as well as unlimited calls and SMS. Moreover, subscribers to this new plan will receive a RM10 monthly rebate for six months, totalling RM60.

Prepaid customers can choose between four monthly 5G passes, a weekly pass, or a daily pass:

  • RM45 per month for “unlimited” 4G/5G at 6Mbps with 80GB FUP cap
  • RM55 per month for “unlimited” 4G/5G at 12Mbps with 100GB FUP cap
  • RM60 per month for 70GB 4G/5G + Bonus 30GB 5G
  • RM15 per week for 15GB 4G/5G + Bonus 10GB 5G
  • RM3 per day for 3GB 4G/5G

All these passes come with unlimited calls and the internet quota can be used for hotspot while the RM60 pass exclusively lets users use their data cap in Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. Additionally, customers aged below 24 can enjoy a 20% Pakej Belia cashback when they purchase any of the new monthly passes.

If you’re an existing customer who prefers to keep your current plan/pass but still wants to use 5G, Maxis and Hotlink are also offering a 5G Access Pass at an additional RM10 per month for postpaid users and RM5 per month for prepaid users. This allows you to use the faster network without having to change your plan. However, from now until 15 September, you can get the Access Pass for free for the first month.
