Casio has recently launched two new limited edition G-Shock watches in the US as part of a collaboration with iconic soda brand Coca-Cola. Unlike their previous team-up back in 2019, which was contributed by Japanese designer Kazuki Kuraishi, the latest collection now consists of the brand’s throwback DW-5600 model and the fan favourite DW-6900.
First, we have the DW-5600CC23-4, which arrives with an all-red body, straps and watch face. The bezel surrounding the display is presented in white, and features a red Coca-Cola branding on top. Flipping the watch over, found on the back is a stainless steel plate with the soda brand’s logo engraved on it.
Specifications-wise, the limited edition Coca-Cola DW-5600 is no different than the regular version. To be more precise, it too features a shock resistant resin body with 20 bar (200-metre) water resistance, numerous built-in functions such as stopwatch and countdown timer, as well as an electro-luminescent backlight. However, it is worth noting that activating the latter will instead emit a bright red glow instead of green.
Next up, we have the DW-6900CC23-3. This particular limited edition version of the watch is presented with a green translucent body, which is modelled after the classic Coca-Cola glass bottle. LIke the DW-6900CC23-4, it also features a white bezel with a red Coca-Cola logo on top, as well as a similar engraving on its rear stainless steel plate.
Again, the watch’s specifications are the same as the original version. Also found on the Coca-Cola limited edition is a shock resistant resin body with 200-metre water resistance, built-in features such as stopwatch, countdown timer and so on, as well as an electro-luminescent backlight. For this model, activating the latter will emit the familiar EL: Blue glow, but with a red silhouette of a Coca-Cola bottle appearing in the middle.
In the US, each watch under the new Coca-Cola X G-Shock collection from Casio is priced at US$160 (~RM733). Unfortunately, there’s still no word on whether the two will be available in Malaysia in the near future.
