The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is set to be launched in China next week but ahead of that, the company’s CEO Lei Jun posted some teasers that show off the upcoming foldable’s design, confirming some previous leaks. For one thing, it will have a quad-camera setup on the back with the Leica branding, and while the exact details of the sensors haven’t been confirmed yet, we know some of the specs from the official images.
When you zoom into the renders, you’ll see that there is some writing on the camera module that reveals the focal lengths of two of the cameras. One is a 15mm ultra-wide lens and another is a 115m periscope. For comparison, the Mix Fold 2 also featured a 15mm ultra-wide but it only had an 8MP 45mm telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. According to a leakster, the Mix Fold 3 will allegedly have two telephoto lenses, offering 3.2x optical zoom and 5x on the other.

The CEO described the phone as “slim, elegant, and premium”, indicating that this foldable might be just as thing or even thinner than its predecessor, which measured at only 11.2mm when closed. The record for thinnest foldable is currently held by the HONOR Magic V2, which is about to get a global release on 1 September, at 9.9mm when closed.
Other rumours surrounding the Mix Fold 3 suggest that it might have an IP rating, an under-display camera for the inner display, as well as 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. The foldable will be launched on 14 August 2023 at 7 PM, but unfortunately, it is unlikely to be available in markets outside of China.
