The vivo Pad Air has officially been announced as the latest tablet from the brand by its vice president Jia Jingdong on Weibo. Coming with three colour options, the VP revealed most of the specs and design of the device, but did not disclose anything regarding its pricing, availability, or configurations.
Starting with the display, it sports an 11.5-inch 2.8K LCD display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and an adaptive refresh rate of 144Hz. The tablet is equipped with four speakers and gets support for the company’s Pencil2 stylus, which might mean that it also supports magnetic wireless charging for it. Moreover, it weighs only 530g with a thickness of 6.67mm.
Under the hood, it runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset but as mentioned, we still don’t know how much RAM and storage will be offered. While Jia did not reveal the specs for the front and back cameras, the promo images show a single camera on the back alongside an LED flashlight, while the front houses the camera on the side bezel for a landscape layout.
Powering it is an 8,500mAh battery with support for 44W charging. While we don’t know the price yet, the Pad Air is expected to cost less than the Pad2, which retails from CNY2,499 (~RM1,585).
