The new Sony Xperia 10 V, which was officially announced in May this year, is now available for pre-order in Malaysia. As previously revealed in our last report, the entry-level sibling to the mighty Xperia 1 V is set to retail for RM2,199 for the local market, and is expected to arrive sometime next month.
To recap, the Xperia 10 V is equipped with a 6.1-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2520 pixels) OLED TRILUMINOS display, which comes with the brand’s signature 21:9 aspect ratio, 60Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The phone itself also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, front stereo speakers, dual SIM support, 3.5mm headphone jack, and IPX5/IPX8 water resistant rating.
Under its hood is a 5G-enabled Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset, which is paired together with a single memory configuration comprising 8GB RAM and 128GB storage – the latter of which is expandable up to 1TB via microSD extension. Meanwhile, powering the Xperia 10 V is a 5,000mAh battery that’s touted to offer over 30 hours of typical usage. It also comes with fast charging support, but Sony did not disclose any further details regarding this.
Moving on to imaging, found on the back of the smartphone is a triple camera setup which consists of a 48MP primary, an 8MP ultra-wide, and an 8MP telephoto. Whereas in front, housed within the upper bezel of its display is a selfie camera that’s powered by yet again another 8MP sensor. Sony adds that the phone is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps via both its front and rear shooters.
The Xperia 10 V will be offered in only two colourways for the Malaysian market, namely Black and Lavender. Pre-orders are available until 8 September 2023 via the brand’s official online stores on its website, as well as on Shopee and Lazada. Lastly, Sony adds that early bird customers are also entitled to receive a matching pair of WF-C700N TWS earbuds, premium clear casing, and tempered glass screen protector when they order the phone within the aforementioned period. As per usual for such promotions, these free gifts are only available while stocks last.
