UPDATE (7:30 PM 4 August 2023): TM has issued a statement which says that “the Ultra packages launched earlier are still available at Unifi Stores nationwide at their original price”. As the previous plans have not been scrubbed entirely, those who signed up for them prior to these new offers would get to keep them with no issues.
ORIGINAL STORY (5:30 PM 3 August 2023):
TM first revealed its 1Gbps and 2Gbps plans for Unifi back in April. At the time, the prices for these plans were RM349 and RM399, respectively. As you’d expect, these also come with the Unifi TV Ultimate pack. As it turns out, the prices of these plans have been increased.
According to the unifi website, the 1Gbps and 2Gbps plans now cost RM378.90 and RM428.90 respectively, which are about bump up of RM29.90 across the board. Though upon taking a closer look, the price increase is due to the company also upgrading the included Unifi TV Ultimate Pack to the Ultimate Max Pack. This also means that you’ll be getting the Standard Plan for Netflix bundled in, among other additional services.
Worth noting though is that the RM29.90 price increase only match when looking at the discounted prices. The difference in the implied original prices don’t exactly match up with the price gap between the Unifi TV Ultimate Pack and the Ultimate Max Pack.
But beyond the change in the Unifi TV pack and the corresponding increase in price, the plans remain largely the same. You’ll still be tied to the plan for 24 months, and you’ll still be getting a WiFi 6 mesh router and next day installations for new signups.
If you’ve already signed up when the offering was new, you can upgrade to this plan from the Unifi website. An older FAQ states that if you have signed up for the plan already, you’ll keep the monthly bill for as long as you stay subscribed to it. While this is likely the case even in this situation, we’ve reached out to TM for confirmation.
