TM has clarified to us that the information about UNI5G Air is from an old document. Its statement said that “the offerings are being enhanced and updated along with the FAQ for our official launch”, adding that the plan will be announced soon.

Unifi has been spotted to be launching a new 5G home wireless broadband plan that seems to be a faster package of its existing Unifi Air offering. The plan is dubbed Uni5G Air, providing customers without access to fibre internet the ability to use a fast data connection.
According to its FAQ [PDF], Uni5G Air is an “unlimited” 5G home wireless internet service that only requires a SIM card and a compatible wireless router to get fired up. It is priced at RM149 per month, almost twice the cost of the existing 4G wireless plan, and provides internet speeds of up to 150Mbps for both download and upload.
While it is advertised as “unlimited”, it is subjected to the company’s Fair Usage Policy (FUP), which would likely mean that it will have a data cap. The company has not yet disclosed the FUP quota for this plan but for reference, Unifi Air has no such quota.
Malaysians will need to pay RM149 upfront while non-Malaysians are required to fork over a RM300 refundable deposit. To get a free 5G wireless router, you will have to sign up for a 24-month contract while subscribing without a contract means that you will only get a SIM card and will need to procure a router yourself.
The company states that with the provided router, you can connect up to 10 devices at one time and it will have a 24-month warranty. As of writing, UNI5G Air is not listed on its website, so it is still unknown when the plan will start being available for purchase.
