Amazfit Malaysia has recently announced the upcoming arrival of its latest Bip 5 smartwatch for the local market. Despite the numbering in its name, the wearable is actually the fourth entry to the line-up and the successor to the Bip 3 that was launched last year. However, unlike its predecessor, the newer product is only offered in a single variation.
One noticeable upgrade that users will appreciate is the larger display on the Bip 5, which measures at 1.91-inches. Additionally, the panel is a TFT touchscreen with 320 x 380 pixel resolution, 260 PPI, and features 2.5 tempered glass with anti-fingerprint coating. Meanwhile, the watch’s case is made from plastic material with a water-resistance rating of IP68, and is paired together with quick release-equipped silicone straps. For the Malaysian market, the Bip 5 is offered in Soft Black, Pastel Pink and Cream White colour options.
The new Amazfit Bip 5 is powered by the brand’s Zepp OS platform and comes with several health monitoring capabilities including 24-hour heart rate, SpO2, stress and sleep tracking. It also has over 120 sports modes, GPS-based location tracking, as well as typical smartwatch functions such as notifications, remote music playback, and Bluetooth-based call support via its onboard speaker and microphone.
In terms of battery, Amazfit claims that the wearable is capable of lasting up to 10 days of typical use, up to five days of heavy usage, and up to 26 days with Battery Saver mode activated. It charges via the included proprietary magnetic charging cable, which is said to take approximately two hours for a full top-up.
The Amazfit Bip 5 is set to launch in Malaysia on 5 August 2023, with first sales available via the brand’s official online store on Shopee starting from 11:59pm on 4 August. According to its listing on the aforementioned e-commerce platform, the new wearable will retail at RM329 but will be sold at RM10 off for the first 200 units upon launch.
