CelcomDigi has announced a couple of new prepaid plans for both telcos under its new Jom 5G Malaysiaku campaign. The prepaid plans offer 5G connectivity without the need to buy a booster and for a limited time, they will come with a huge chunk of extra data.
On Celcom’s side, there is the new XPAX Prepaid 5G 48 monthly plan that costs RM48. It offers a base quota of 20GB for 5G data capped at 100Mbps, with an additional 15GB when purchased from now until 2 October 2023.
It also comes with unlimited calls as well as unlimited internet capped at 3Mbps if you finish the 5G quota or are in an area without 5G coverage. That being said, the “unlimited” data is limited to its Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 80GB. Moreover, the plan offers 6GB of hotspot that is capped at a speed of 6Mbps.
For Digi users, there’s the new NEXT 5G 48 plan that similarly costs RM48 per month. This package offers 30GB of both 4G and 5G data as well as the extra 15GB during the promo period, neither of which are hotspotable.
In case you want to use hotspot and don’t want to pay for a pass, the telco is giving 10GB of hotspot usage along with unlimited 3Mbps internet for social media apps if you activate auto-renewal. Of course, this prepaid plan is also packaged with unlimited calls.
