DJI has recently shared a post on Twitter teasing the upcoming reveal of a new product soon. But unlike the Air 3 drone that was launched last week, this upcoming device is hinted to be the Osmo Action 4, the successor to the brand’s action camera line-up.
According to DJI, the new camera is expected to debut at 9pm local time tomorrow on 2 August 2023. And based on the teaser image provided, it appears that the Osmo Action 4 will retain more or less the same design as its predecessor, but will feature a much larger lens instead. Further details regarding its specifications and onboard features are still unknown at this time, unfortunately.

However, there have been several leaks that were released online by numerous sources prior to tomorrow’s launch. According to these, the upcoming DJI Osmo Action 4 is suggested to allegedly feature a new1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor with 155-degree FOV which can record 4K videos at up to 120fps. It is also said to come with the brand’s 360-degree HorizonSteady feature, a deep-freeze resistant and long-lasting battery, a waterproof body that can withstand 18m, and dual touchscreen displays.

Apart from the sensor, it seems that everything else is presumably similar to the Action 3 from last year. But given the fact that it is a succeeding model, there’s a big chance that the newer camera would feature numerous improvements in battery, shooting modes, more features, and so on.
Additionally, the leaks also claim that the new DJI Osmo Action 4 will be supposedly offered in two options; a standard combo with just the camera itself and basic accessories for US$412 (~RM1,860), as well as an Adventure Combo which comes with an extension rod, three batteries and a battery case for US$525 (~RM2,370). Whether or not all of the leaked information provided is accurate or not, we’ll only find out during tomorrow’s launch.
