Mechenike, a popular PC maker based in Shanghai, appears to have revealed the launch window for Intel’s upcoming 14th Gen desktop CPUs. Whether by accident or on purpose, it appears that the lineup will be making its appearance come October this year.
The launch date was seemingly confirmed by a report by the China-based tech site, ITHome. On that note, the timing does match up with Intel’s supposed plans to release its 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh desktop CPUs too.
What is expected to be different with the new Intel 14th Gen desktop lineup, for both Meteor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh models, is that this will be the first Intel-based system to come equipped with PCIe Gen5 storage as a standard feature. That would be a boon, considering that, while prebuilt 12th and 13th Gen Core systems do support PCIe Gen5, they still lack access to the faster and more formidable PCIe SSDs at launch.
Sadly, there isn’t any further information about the Intel 14th Gen lineup beyond that, and the rest of the post is simply just Mechenike flaunting its product lineup at an event called BilibiliWorld 2023, which clearly is being hosted by the popular Chinese video sharing platform, Biilibili.
On a somewhat related note, we know that Intel Innovate will be happening the month before, so hopefully, the chipmaker will divulge more about its plans and hopes for 14th Gen before then.
