Huawei has revealed that its new Huawei Watch Fit Special Edition smartwatch which debuted recently for the global market will be making its way to Malaysia. The wearable is slightly smaller than its predecessor from last year, the Watch Fit 2, but packs more or less the same features and functions.
For starters, the Watch Fit Special Edition retains the series’ rectangular display, but at a smaller 1.64-inch. Additionally, its panel is an HD AMOLED with a 70% screen-to-body ratio, 456 × 280 pixel resolution, 326PPI, and generates 16.7 million colours. Huawei says the wearable itself is lightweight, coming in at around 21g and is also 10.7mm thin.
For personalisation, it is offered in three colorways – Starry Black, Nebula Pink, and Forest Green – which are paired with matching silicon straps. Meanwhile, onboard are over 10,000 watch faces to choose from, including several themes for its Always On feature.
The Huawei Watch Fit Special Edition comes with SpO2 and blood oxygen monitoring, as well as TruSleep 3.0 and TruSeen 5.0 features which are touted to offer improved sleep recognition and better heart rate tracking respectively. It also features over 100 workout modes, and numerous smart functions such as notifications, quick replies and so on.
In terms of battery performance, the wearable is capable of lasting up to three days when used with Always On activated, up to six days when used typically, and up to nine days on battery saver mode. Huawei adds that five minutes of fast charging will grant you one day’s worth of usage.
The Watch Fit Special Edition is set to retail in Malaysia at RM399, though its exact date of availability has not been confirmed by the company just yet. Nevertheless, those interested can pre-order it through the brand’s official web store starting 1 August until 7 August 2023. In conjunction with its upcoming local launch, Huawei is offering the new smartwatch at special prices below RM300 through its official Shopee and Lazada online stores throughout the aforementioned duration.
