Razer has recently introduced two new entries to its BlackWidow V4 family that first debuted with the Pro model back in February this year. These consist of a regular version of the keyboard and an entry-level X variant, which are now available to order in Malaysia via the brand’s official web store.
Like their Pro sibling, the two newly announced BlackWidow V4 models are wired-only, though only the standard variant offers a detachable USB-C cable. Similarly, both are also full-sized keyboards, and are equipped with Razer’s Green “Clicky” mechanical switches, Doubleshot ABS keycaps, six dedicated macros keys, a dedicated media roller on the upper right, and an aluminium alloy body.
Other common features include hybrid onboard storage that can store up to five profiles, and Razer Chroma RGB lighting with Synapse compatibility. Unfortunately, unlike the Pro model, neither of the newer BlackWidow V4 variants come with any USB passthrough whatsoever.
The standard variant in particular comes with two underglow Chroma strips on each side, a detachable magnetic plush leatherette wrist rest, and four dedicated media buttons that are located beneath its media roller. These are not offered on the X model, which is pretty much considered as the more basic version of the bunch, hence its lower price tag.
Speaking of which, the vanilla Razer BlackWidow V4 is set to retail in Malaysia at RM849, while the BlackWidow V4 X is priced at RM659. Both keyboards are only available in the brand’s traditional black colour.
