realme has announced its latest tablet, the realme Pad 2. It is the brand’s fourth tablet overall and is the successor to the original Pad and Pad X. The company is only launching it in India for now but it is expected to be released in Malaysia soon given that it received SIRIM certification last month.
The Pad 2 sports an 11.5-inch 2000×1200 IPS LCD display with a variable refresh rate of 120Hz. It comes with four speakers in total and is equipped with support for Dolby Atmos. Unfortunately, it seems to have no biometric scanner for unlocking.
Internally, the tablet runs on a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, although the configuration options might differ in other markets. Both the back and the front house an 8MP camera.
Powering it is an 8,360mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging. For reference, the pricing in India starts at INR19,999 (~RM1,125) for the base model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage while the higher-end configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage goes for INR22,999 (~RM1,293). It’s not known yet when exactly the brand plans to make the tablet available here.
