Local Grab users have reported encountering several issues with the platform’s GrabPay e-wallet service; more specifically with its abilities to conduct payments and topping up credit balance. According to postings on social media, the problems have been persisting for almost the entire day.
Despite not making a public announcement, the company did acknowledge the matter earlier this evening through a notice sent out to users via its app, as well as through replies on its Twitter and Facebook accounts. According to Grab, it is still in the midst of resolving the technical issue and revealed that specific services such as GrabPay Credits, PayLater and the e-wallet’s top-up function cannot be used throughout this duration.
So far, only GrabPay is affected by the disruption, while Grab’s other offerings (e-hailing, food delivery, and so on) are still functioning normally. However, keep in mind that you won’t be able to pay for these services with the super app’s own e-wallet feature for the time being, so be sure to use alternatives such as online banking or credit/debit card payments.
Hi anum! We have just received an update. We are currently resolving the issue on making payments & top-ups. Apologies for the inconvenience but rest assured you may check again on this by refreshing the app in the next few hours. Appreciate your kind patience & understanding.

Unfortunately, Grab did not say when the maintenance is expected to be completed, though it did ask some users to refresh its super app again “in the next few hours” through some replies on Twitter. Regardless, it looks like it would still take a long while before the issues plaguing the company’s GrabPay services are resolved.
