The gates to Google Bard were opened back in May, during the internet search giant’s I/O event. At the time, the company said that it would be up to 40 languages. With the latest update published by the company, Bard has finally reached that language goal, as well as being able to read out its responses.
As per the post on the Google blog, you can now listen to the responsed by Bard. The company says that this can sometimes “help you approach your idea in a different way”, as well as let you hear the correct pronunciation of a word, among other things. Which is nice, but it’s definitely something that people need to do more often in general, rather than just while they’re using Bard.
Naturally, with a feature like this, you’ll be getting some options when it comes to changing the tone and style of the responses of Google Bard. As you’d expect though, this is only restricted to the English language first, with support for other languages coming sometime down the line.
Also announced as being available today is another functionality of Bard that was first revealed during the I/O event in May, which is the ability to take image prompts. This is also currently English-only, but for what it’s worth you can drag and drop the image into the prompt box, and you can get Bard to either give you more information on it, or even generate content like captions based on it.
