nubia has announced a global launch event for its recently-unveiled flagship, the Redmagic 8S Pro. The phone is a refresh of this year’s Redmagic 8 Pro using the latest chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version.
The Redmagic 8S Pro sports a 6.8-inch 2480×1116 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. It is powered by a large 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging while the 8S Pro Plus has a faster 100W charging speed with a smaller 5,000mAh battery.
As mentioned above, it runs on an enhanced version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with a higher 3.36GHz clock speed for the prime core and 719MHz for the GPU, which is the same configuration as the custom version fitted in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. For photography, the back features a 50MP main camera, 2MP macro lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide, while the front houses an under-display 16MP selfie snapper.
The company will be launching the Redmagic 8S Pro on 18 July at 8 PM (local time), but it has not announced when exactly it will be coming to Malaysia. Moreover, the event page made no mention of the 8S Pro Plus, so the higher-end variant will unlikely make its way here.
