The vivo Y27 5G is the latest addition to the brand’s Y series, being quietly listed on its global website. Interestingly, while the pricing and availability of the phone have not been revealed yet, we found that it already received SIRIM certification just last week.
Registered with the model number V2249, the Y27 5G was listed on the SIRIM database on 5 July 2023. Additionally, a 4G variant of the phone was registered on 26 June 2023, which is likely a refresh of the Y27 4G released in 2014. With the phones being recently certified, we can expect a Malaysian launch of the series in the near future.
The Y27 5G sports a 6.64-inch 1080p LCD display with a peak brightness of 600 nits. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W charging.
For connectivity, it supports 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, and Wi-Fi 5 while configuration-wise, it offers up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, although the local model might get a different configuration. On the back, it features a 50MP main camera as well as a depth sensor with the front housing an 8MP selfie shooter.
Not much is known about the 4G variant but we can expect it to be quite similar to the 5G model save for a cheaper chipset. The company has not yet announced when the series will be released here.
