KTMB is offering ETS tickets at half off throughout the month of July, although there are some caveats. The 50% discount is only applicable for travel dates that fall on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, which are 11 to 13 July, 18 to 20 July, and 25 to 27 July.
Each date has its own promo code and from our testing, it seems that each code has a quota on how many customers can redeem them, with some dates already used up. Only Malaysian citizens can use the promo codes and they are not applicable for business class seats as well as concession tickets such as those for senior citizens, students, and OKU.
You can use the discount for one-way travel or even roundtrip as long as both dates fall under the specified dates and the respective promo code has not hit its limit. Additionally, while those registered as senior citizens can already get a 50% discount, KTMB is offering an additional RM5 discount for ETS tickets.
Senior citizens can use the promo code PRIHATINEMAS to get RM5 off of their ticket on top of their concession fare, applicable on all routes from Tuesdays to Thursdays and valid from 1 July until December 2023. In related news, students can now apply for the MyRailLife Pass to get free rides on the Klang Valley KTM Komuter, KTM Komuter Utara, and Shuttle Timuran.
