Just over a month ago, Garmin unveiled its Epix Pro and Fenix 7 Pro series of smartwatches. If you were among those who were interested in getting one, these are now officially available for purchase in the local market.
We’ve already gone over most of what both smartwatches can do the last time around. And despite being two different series of smartwatches, both can pretty much do what the other can as well, with a couple of notable exceptions.
To quickly be able to tell the difference between the two, the Garmin Epix Pro is the model with the one with the OLED display and the Red Shift mode that makes it easier on the eyes when used at night. As for the Fenix 7 Pro, This instead has solar charging capabilities and a MIP display for better adaptive brightness and power efficiency.
That being said, without solar charging, the Garmin Epix Pro does slightly outperform the Fenix 7 Pro in terms of battery life, with the former lasting up to 31 days in full smartwatch mode, while the latter can go on for 28 days. This of course gets stretched further when solar charging comes into play, pushing it by an additional nine days.
Incidentally, the latter is also named slightly differently depending on the strap size. The 42mm model is named the Fenix 7s Pro, and the 51mm model being named the Fenix 7x Pro instead.
As mentioned, both the Garmin Epix Pro and Fenix 7 Pro smartwatches are now available for purchase in Malaysia. The former has a starting price of RM4,950 for its 42mm and 47mm models, but it goes up to RM5,440 if you want the 51mm model. Likewise, the latter starts from RM4,450 for the small and medium sizes, but for those who want large straps, this goes up to RM4,950.
