Nothing, via Twitter, has finally unveiled its second smartphone, the Phone (2), not long after it was featured in one of Marques Brownlee’s recent videos. As seen from the official product renders provided by the company, the upcoming handset is as exactly as depicted in the aforementioned video, and it is also shown to be offered in two colour options: white and grey.
As we’ve already pointed out in our previous article, the few noticeable differences that sets the Nothing Phone (2)’s design apart from its predecessor is the new arrangement of its rear LED strips. More specifically, the ring around the cameras is now split into two, while the major pill-shaped ring in the centre of the device’s back is divided into six. The slanted line and “exclamation mark” lights at the bottom, on the other hand, are more or less identical to the Phone (1)’s.
There are also some minor changes to the patterned layout behind the phone’s transparent rear case, which now includes a semi-circle segment that houses what appears to be a switch and a small LED light. As you may recall, the latter two were prominently shown off by Nothing in the earlier teasers for the Phone (2). Meanwhile, the design of the handset’s front is still a mystery for now, though it is believed that it may feature a flat panel and a punch-hole selfie camera.
The Phone (2) is slated for a global reveal on 12 July, whereas on the local side of things, Nothing has confirmed that the handset will officially debut in Malaysia on 14 July 2023 – just two days after. In addition, the company also revealed that it has exclusively partnered with Yes for the launch, though it did not elaborate further regarding this. Regardless, we’ll be sure to learn more about this collaboration, as well as details regarding the Phone (2)’s local pricing and availability next Friday.
