South Korean tech giant Samsung is giving its Smart Monitor line a touch up for the year. Specifically, the company has announced new models of the M8 and M7 monitors for the year, with a launch promo to go with them until the end of the week.
This year’s editions of the Samsung Smart Monitor M8 and M7 are returning with their 32-inch screen sizes. The latter does have a 43-inch model, but it looks like it won’t be part of this refresh batch. Both also retain their 16:9 aspect ratio and 4K resolution, as well as 99% sRGB colour coverage, 60Hz refresh rate and 4m GtG response rate. Though while the latter retains its HDR 10 support, the former gets a bump up to HDR 10+.
Beyond the screens themselves, both the Samsung Smart Monitor M8 and M7 come with a pair of built-in 5W speakers, a HDMI 2.0 port, two USB-A ports and one USB-C port. That last one is also capable of 65W charging for any of your devices that are running low on juice.
Then there are the features that makes these smart monitors. The Samsung Smart Monitor M8 and M7 come with support for the usual media streaming services like Netflix and YouTube on their own, as well as support for video calls via Google Meet, for example. As you’d expect, there’s also support for voice assistants built in, such as Amazon Alexa and, naturally, the company’s own Bixby. Helping with the process are the built-in microphone, which also grants the monitors far-field voice recognition support.
For their prices, the Samsung Smart Monitor M8 and M7 are priced at RM3,588 and RM2,788 respectively. But thanks to the aforementioned launch promo, these are cut down to RM2,888 and RM2,238.
