Razer officially launched its Cobra gaming mice lineup. The new lineup comprises two models, one being a wired model and the other a wireless Pro model.
The Cobra lineup takes a slightly different approach in its design and at a glance, it looks as if Razer is taking a page out of Logitech G’s playbook. You still get a fair bit of customisation with button controls – The Pro model gets 10 customisable controls, five onboard memory profiles and 11 individually addressable Chrome RGB zones, to be precise. And yes, that is an RGB halo at the base of the mouse. All these features are configurable via Razer’s Synapse app.
“There was a clear gap in the market for a mouse that offered a well-balanced, immersive gaming experience. Driven by that realization, we created the all-new Cobra line,” said Barrie Ooi, Head of Razer’s PC Gaming Division. “The Cobra Pro stands unrivaled as the most immersive, feature-rich wireless and symmetrical mouse available today, and we can’t wait for our community to try it out for themselves.”
Weight-wise, the Cobra Pro weighs just 77g. In terms of performance, it is embedded with Razer’s Focus Pro 30K optical sensor, the same sensor used on the Basilisk V3 Pro. Other features include 3rd generation Optical Mouse Switches and Razer’s HyperSpeed technology. Lastly, the mouse is upgrade-ready for true 4000Hz polling with the brand’s Mouse Dock Pro, but you’re going to have to purchase that accessory separately. Oh, and the mouse can be wirelessly recharged but again, that accessory doesn’t come bundled with the mouse.
Moving down the line, there’s the wired, non-Pro Cobra. Razer is marketing this mouse as an alternative for casual gamers that aren’t as invested in the idea of the Pro. it’s lightweight at 58g, comes with an Optical sensor with an 8500 dpi, and the same 3rd generation Optical switches, although it comes with two less customisable controls, plus a less garish RBG Chrome underglow.
Pricing for the Razer Cobra lineup starts at RM205 for the wired model, while the Cobra Pro retails for RM659. They have been available since 29 June.
